Audi has launched a new entry-level £24,070 Audi TT coupe for 2012.
The new Audi TT 1.8 TFSI Coupe gets the 1.8 litre turbocharged engine previously only available in the Audi TT roadster. The engine delivers 158bhp between 4,500 and 6,300 rpm and 184 lb/ft of torque from 1,500 to 4,500rpm.
The car is available with either a standard six-speed manual or optional 7-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission, and with optional Sport or S-line trim specification.
Audi claims the car will reach 62mph from rest in 7.2 seconds, 7.1 seconds with the twin-clutch gearbox, and top out at 140mph. With either ‘box 44.1mpg and 147g CO2 are claimed.
Sport models get 17-inch alloy wheels, electronic climate control, leather and Alcantara combination upholstery and a Concert audio system with iPod connectivity.
S line models feature 18-inch alloys, lowered S line sports suspension, a short-shift gearbox for manuals, S line detailing and xenon headlights.
Other revisions for the TT range for 2012 include the option of the S tronic transmission for the 1.8 TFSI roadster and the 2.0 TDi roadster and coupe.
