Alfa shows mega motor

Alfa Romeo has revealed plans for a super-high-performance-1, 8-litre turbo petrol engine, according to reports in the Italian press.

The new engine for quer-and longitudinal data installation was designed, will produce 296bhp, a remarkable 165bhp per litre.

An all-aluminium, it will be equipped (200 bar) direct injection with high pressure and it is assumed that the unique Multiair variable valve timing device to use.

Alfa says, that this new engine the ultra-strict European EU6 and the US Tier2Bin5 air pollution requirements met.

The engine is expected, replaces the range of 159 in early 2014 to make his debut in the new Giulia.

However, the fact that it can be mounted in the longitudinal direction, it makes also a racing safety at the upcoming rear-wheel drive Alfa flagship salon, based on the Chrysler 300 c.
